Good Shepherd Weekend 2023

GOOD SHEPHERD WEEKEND FESTIVITIES

April 28-30, 2023

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is known as Good Shepherd Sunday. We celebrate it as our parish feast day. But one day doesn’t seem like enough time to celebrate our many blessings as a parish and school. So, we’re making a weekend of it. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us at the dates and times listed below.

We will  hold 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. Our goal is to have at least two people praying before the Blessed Sacrament throughout the 40 Hours. Please prayerfully consider signing up for one or more hours of Eucharistic Adoration throughout the weekend. We’re calling on the men of Good Shepherd to fill the overnight spots.

You can sign up for adoration here.We will also hold a special parish celebration after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday, April 30. We need many volunteers to make this possible! To sign up to help HERE.Looking to donate to Good Shepherd Weekend to help cover our expenses? CLICK HERE to be directed to our donation page. (Payments for Beverages, Balloons, etc will be taken the day of the event, this link is for donations only. Thank you!)

Friday, April 28
Join us for 6:30pm Mass to kick off our 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration. This will be a Mass of the Most Holy Eucharist and will be celebrated for an increase in our love of Jesus in the Eucharist.

After Mass, join us for Cake & Ice Cream in the Social Hall. We need YOU to bring your favorite cake! You can bake it (preferred) or buy it (we’ll still eat it). Good Shepherd will supply the ice cream.

We’ll conclude the evening by praying Night Prayer together in the church. Night Prayer is a simple and short (~8 minutes) way to end any day, and is especially beautiful when we can pray it together.

Saturday, April 29
We’ll begin Saturday with Morning Prayer and Mass. Our 8am Mass will be celebrated for Father Ben and the People of Good Shepherd. We’ll pray the Mass of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, as we prepare for our pastor transition.

After Mass, the Church and Parish Center Chapel will be open for Eucharistic Adoration all day, except during the 5pm Mass. Please come spend time with Our Lord. And please use the following information for where to adore on Saturday:

  • Midnight to 10am = Church
  • 10am to 5pm = Parish Center Chapel
  • 6pm to Midnight = Church

Sunday, April 30
We’ll begin Good Shepherd Sunday with morning prayer and our regular Masses. Then, we’ll party. And this is a party not to miss! We’ll have food, drink, fellowship, and fun. New this year, we’ll have balloon artists and an airbrush tattoo artist. Please pray for great weather. This will be a great time with fellow parishioners and school families. Good Shepherd will supply the meal: Pulled Pork, Hot Dogs, Coleslaw, Apples, and Cookies. Beverages, Cotton Candy, Balloons, and Tattoos are extra. This year we are able to accept cash, check or credit through Square. Donations to support these great events are always welcome. So are volunteers
