Singing in a choir provides children a unique opportunity to grow in their faith and develop lifelong skills while building community and serving their parish and families with beautiful sacred music.
In Fall 2022, Good Shepherd will be offering two children's choirs which run concurrently! Both choirs will follow a year-long curriculum focused on teaching fundamental singing skills, musicianship and music theory, and expose children to the rich heritage of Catholic sacred music. Both choirs are open to all boys and girls in the parish or school.
CANTATE CHOIR - Grades 2 & 3: focused on the fundamentals of singing, sight-reading, and musicianship.
JUBILATE CHOIR - Grades 4 and up (unchanged voices): focused on developing good vocal technique and musicianship skills neccesary for liturgical performances and sacred repertoire.
Both Choirs rehearse on Thursdays, 4:00-5:15 from September to the end of April.
Tuition and Registration
Registration is now open for the fall and there will be another opportunity to register early in the new year.
In order to offset the costs of instructional materials, snacks, and additional staff at rehearsals and performances, there will be a tuition of $50 (capped at $150 per family) for the year. If this is a hindrance to your child's participation, please reach out to [email protected] to discuss scholarship options.
