Good Shepherd Weekend 2024

GOOD SHEPHERD WEEKEND FESTIVITIES

April 19-21, 2024

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is known as Good Shepherd Sunday. We celebrate it as our parish feast day. But one day doesn’t seem like enough time to celebrate our many blessings as a parish and school. So, we’re making a weekend of it. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us at the dates and times listed below.

We will  hold 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21. Our goal is to have at least two people praying before the Blessed Sacrament throughout the 40 Hours. Please prayerfully consider signing up for one or more hours of Eucharistic Adoration throughout the weekend. We’re calling on the men of Good Shepherd to fill the overnight spots.

You can sign up for adoration CLICK HERE.We will also hold a special parish celebration after the 4:00pm Mass on Saturday, April 20. We need many volunteers to make this possible! (Payments for Beverages will be taken the day of the event, this link is for donations only. Thank you!)

Friday, April 19
Join us for 6:30pm Mass to kick off our 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration. This will be a Mass of the Most Holy Eucharist and will be celebrated for an increase in our love of Jesus in the Eucharist.

After Mass, join us for Cake & Ice Cream in the Social Hall. We need YOU to bring your favorite cake! You can bake it (preferred) or buy it (we’ll still eat it). Good Shepherd will supply the ice cream. Volunteers are needed, CLICK HERE to sign up to help!

We’ll conclude the evening by praying Night Prayer together in the church. Night Prayer is a simple and short (~8 minutes) way to end any day, and is especially beautiful when we can pray it together.

Saturday, April 20
The Church will be open for Eucharistic Adoration all day, except during the 4pm Mass. Please come spend time with Our Lord.  Our regular confessions will happen in the Church with Fr. Ben from 8:30am to 9:30am. Bishop Michael Izen will join us for the 4:00pm Mass!

After Mass, we’ll party. And this is a party not to miss! We’ll have food, drink, fellowship, and fun. This year, we will make things a little simpler as we finish up our construction project. We will keep the celebration inside with a feast of: Pulled Pork (GF), Hot Dogs, Coleslaw(GF), Baked Beans (GF), Apples, and Cookies. A suggested $5 donation per person is welcome. Beverages, will be available for sale. This year we are able to accept cash, check or credit through Square. Donations to support these great events are always welcome. So are volunteers - CLICK HERE to sign up to help!

Sunday, April 21
Join us for our regular Masses at 8:30am and 10:30am followed by DONUTS! The Church will be open for Eucharistic Adoration all day. We will conclude the 40 hours with a beautiful sung Vespers (Evening Prayer) at 4pm. This is the universal prayer of the church - you don't want to miss this - led by our gifted and talented choir.
