FAITH COMMUNITY SHARING: FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP
Join fellow parishioners for four evenings of exploring and discussing the document Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship from the U.S. Bishops. These sessions are meant to help you better understand the role of faith in the public square and to help you continue to form your conscience in the light of the truth of Jesus Christ.
Each of the four sessions will include readings from Sacred Scripture and Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, time for discussion, and prayer. The themes for the sessions are as follows:
Session A: The Call to Participate in the Public Life
Session B: Forming Consciences
Session C: Avoiding Evil and Doing Good
Session D: Catholic Social Teaching in the Public Square
There are two ways to participate:
Option 1: Join us at Good Shepherd
We will host four sessions in the Social Hall. These will take place on the following Sundays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Session A: September 20
Session B: September 27
Session C: October 4
Session D: October 11
In order for us to maintain proper social distancing, we will be limiting the number of attendees to 25. If you would like to join us for one or more of the sessions, please register online or by calling the parish office. At the present, we are unable to provide food and beverages at parish events. So, these sessions will be BYOS&D — bring your own snacks and drinks.
Option 2: Host in Your Own Homes
If you and your family or a group of friends would prefer to engage in this material on a different schedule, we encourage you to meet in your homes. The US Bishops have provided everything you need to facilitate these sessions. If you are going to host, please let us know. We’ll be happy to get you all of the printed materials you need to conduct the sessions and complete the reading.
