Religious Education Program
Religious education goes by many names: CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine), Faith Formation, or even Wednesday night classes. Whatever name is used, we are very proud of our program.
We employ professional teachers who are committed to offering the best possible learning experience for each child. The experience includes the use of a textbook, handouts, lectures, discussions, written journalizing, homework, individual and group prayer as well as other religious learning experiences.
Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM for students in 1st through 7th grade who attend public school. Classes usually start in the fall (late September) and go until mid April. Students are required to register each year. Registration forms are available in the parish office, or by calling 763-544-0416.
Children learn especially by example and by trying things out. Inviting children to participate is the most powerful way to teach them. Guiding children in worship passes on to them a heritage of language and image and gesture by which they can then form their own approach to God. It is a gift they will be able to draw upon throughout the course of their lives. It is a gift, which includes the clear message that they are an integral part of our community of faith.
